AMA 9th Annual Regional Conference

This year, we are excited to have marketers share their diverse experiences within the media and entertainment industries. Our conference will feature a subscription entertainment service case written by Jay Gleba, Director of Growth Marketing at Ampush.

Speaker Biographies

Gale McFarlane

Gale is a creator with a passion for storytelling. She creates impactful content that heartens joy, stirs inspiration, and enables information sharing. Her enthusiasm for creating universal content motivates her to employ user-friendly technologies to produce innovative and sustainable solutions.

As an advocate, she facilitates creative, strategic partnerships to develop and implement thoughtful initiatives that champion the voice, visibility, and vitality of Black women. In 2019, Gale co-founded “Our Narratives,” a platform that provides a podcast as a storytelling avenue for Black women in business.


Since graduating from the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences in May of 2018, Gale worked at Accenture until January of 2021 as a Management Consultant in Health Care and Resources focusing on growth strategy, innovation, and change management. Currently, she is a Global Partner Marketing Associate at Disney Streaming where she focuses on editorial marketing and partnerships for Disney+, ESPN+, and Star/STAR+.

Kylie Scarf

Kylie Scharf graduated from JHU in 2013 and moved to NYC to work for L'Oreal USA.  She spent 4 years at L'Oreal doing marketing, sales and digital marketing on mass consumer brands such as Maybelline, L'Oreal Paris, Garnier and essie.  In 2017, she moved to Seattle and began working at Amazon.  She held 3 different marketing roles at Amazon ranging from Kindle & Fire Tablets marketing to automated emails across all of Amazon to managing the go to market and consumer marketing for a new live virtual experiences service called Amazon Explore.  She recently left Amazon to join a social commerce startup as Director of Marketing.

Katerina Misa

Katerina Misa is an Associate Account Strategist for Google where she manages advertising strategies for a portfolio of small to medium sized businesses. Prior to her work at Google, Katerina gained agency experience from her time at Merkley + Partners and FCB Health where she worked with a range of clients from Mercedes Benz to household pharmaceutical brands. Katerina most recently pursued her passion for fashion marketing when she worked as a marketing coordinator for sustainable fashion start up MLE, managing all digital efforts from social media to trend forecasting. 

 

Katerina graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Economics and a triple minor in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership Studies. During her time at Johns Hopkins, she operated as the President of the American Marketing Association chapter for JHU as well as acted as the Chief of Communications for leading economist Dr. Steve Hanke.

Katerina enjoys the creativity that marketing brings to corporate work and hopes to continue to impact small brands in her career moving forward.
